Artistic director of Luxembourg Ballet. Her works have been performed in opera and ballet theatres across Europe including the English National Opera, the Estonia National Opera and the Dresden State Operetta. For 10 years, she has been a leading resident choreographer at the National Bolshoi Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Minsk and coordinator of the inhouse experimental stage. Curator of the Berlin Dance Biennale under the direction of William Forsythe; lecturer at the University of the Arts in Bern; choreographer with the UNESCO United Dance Company.


She received her professional training at the University of Dramatic Arts Ernst Busch in Berlin and Palucca University of Dance Dresden, having worked with internationally prominent choreographers and directors like Dietmar Seyffert, Michael Diekamp, ​​Xavier Le Roy, and Ismail Ivo among others. Her repertoire includes works from the world cultural heritage, among others, Carmen (G. Bizet), La Boheme (G. Puccini), Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Anna Karenina (P. Tchaikovsky), Coppelia (L. Delibes).

Luxembourg Ballet soloist dancer. Trained at the Royal Ballet School with honours, James joined the English National Ballet in 2005 and was promoted to First Artist 2008, Solist 2009, and First soloist 2013. James has danced the principal roles in many neoclassical and contemporary works by a range of choreographers including, Van Manen, Kylian and Macmillan.

Luxembourg Ballet soloist dancer. Born in Mariupol, Kateryna graduated from Vadim Pisarev's ballet school. For the last six years, she held the title of the first soloist in the Mariinsky theatre (Primorsky stage). Her repertoire includes such roles as Odette in Swan Lake, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Gamzatti in La Bayadere, Le Jeune Homme et la Mort (Roland Petit) and Calliope in Apollo (Balanchine). among others.

Leo is a graduate from the Berlin State Ballet School and joined Luxembourg Ballet in Season 23-24.

Luxembourg Ballet dancer. Luxembourg-based contemporary dancer, a graduate of the Luxembourg Conservatory in Jazz dance. She studied at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the Netherlands and in a theatre school in Brussels.

France and works as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer since 2014. In 2020, she joined the

collective LUCODA (Luxembourg Collective of Dance).

Ekaterina Zinovyeva-Provalinskaya

Luxembourg Ballet guest soloist dancer. After successful graduation from the Belarusian State Choreography College, she was accepted into the Belarusian National Opera. After 10 years of successful work, she decided to study acting further and enrolled at the National Academy of Arts of Belarus, from which she graduated with distinction as an actor. Ekaterina's repertoire is very extensive and includes numerous roles in more than 30 productions, among them Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Carmen, Anna Karenina, Who Am I, The Nutcracker, Spartacus, Love and Death, Romeo and Juliet, and many others.

Collaborated with various renowned Opera Houses, such as the National Theater of Japan, Dortmund Opera House, Mikhailovsky Theater, and others. Since 2008 Natalia Matsak has been awarded the title Honored Artist of Ukraine.

Hat ein Kulturspektakel wirklich eine heilende Kraft? „Ich finde schon. Ich finde, das ist eine der großen Aufgaben der Kunst: uns zu amüsieren, uns zu inspirieren, aber auch, uns zu betäugen“, so Kastsel... Die Tanzsprache bei der Luxemburger Carmen-Inszenierung sei bewusst ein Mix aus Stilen und Formen... Der große Wunsch der Choreografin ist, „dass die Menschen, die ins Theater kommen, für einen Moment ihre Sorgen vergessen ...“ Erkenne man als Zuschauer eigene Erfahrungen auf der Bühne wieder, sei man sehr berührt. Kastsel ist sich sicher: „Wenn man es plötzlich schafft, dass sich so viele Menschen, die aus unterschiedlichen Ecken der Welt sind, wie in einem Spiegel wiedererkennen, dann gebe es eine Einheit von allen Menschen, die im Saal sitzen.“
